MONDPHASE II BRONZE
Echoes of early astronomical instruments
Bronze was chosen not only for its material qualities, but for its deep connection to the origins of timekeeping and astronomical observation. Long before modern watchmaking, bronze was used to create instruments that allowed humanity to understand the movement of the stars and the rhythm of the cosmos.
With the Mondphase II, this historical reference becomes part of a larger narrative. As the first watch of the Serie Universum, it reflects Felipe Pikullik’s fascination with building a mechanical universe from within, where every component is conceived as part of a greater whole.
Bronze naturally complements this idea. It is a material that evolves over time, developing a unique patina shaped by light, air, and daily wear. In this way, the watch does not remain static, but continues to change, carrying time not only through its movement, but also through its surface.
Beneath this evolving exterior, the architecture reveals the depth of the movement itself. Built from the dial side, the components rise above the aventurine base like celestial bodies, forming a layered mechanical landscape.
Light interacts with polished angles, frosted surfaces, and hand finished details, creating a constant interplay between reflection and shadow. It is this balance of structure and atmosphere that defines the Mondphase II, where material, mechanics, and meaning come together as a quiet expression of time.
